I was reading an article on glamour.com about fear of going to the dentist which is something I wrote about. A majority of people have this fear and they have valid reasons as well. Some people may have a pinful experience or some might be thinking of high expenses. Any way round It can be a normal experience which you get on your visit to any other specialist and not the dreaded dentist.

There could be many other reasons for that fear. People love to hear stories and make their opinions on what they hear rather than what they experience so even if they don’t hae any real experience of any dentalproceedure they may have fear because of what they have heard from others

Dental equipment is nothing less than a surgical tools. When a person enters the clinic , all those tools and equipment canbe scray to look at. This I have found to be true with children . A lot of children even refuse to be diagnosed because they get so scred of the tools that are used. SO they have to be calmed down before you can begin with your work.

Dentistry has come of ages and there is state of the art equipment which can be used to give you a good oral health and take care of your teeth and gums. The pain associated with dental procedures is down to bare minimum, you just have to go to an experienced dentist and have some trust in him that he will do things right because he knows best. You will be relieved of your toothache and that too forever.

Everyone knows dentists and most people are scared to visit a dentist. There are valid reasons for that. It could be the money part or the pain and the discomfort of going to a dentist. It is a specialized service that is expensive as well. The dental equipment and gadgets are not cheap either. That makes every visit to a dentist a costly affair. Even for people who do not think about money, it means pain and discomfort of keeping the mouth wide open for a few minutes with the equipment going in and out of it.

I am writing about dentist because I have been servicing as a dentist for many years now. Just putting my thoughts on the pc, no one uses paper nowadays. This profession has been very satisfying to me though I never though or planned of becoming a dentist when I was young. In fact the idea repulsed me. But as the things changed and I got into medical studies, my interest in dental education kept increasing and that is what got me into this. I guess god has his own ways of getting you at a place.

There have been instances when patients were scared of me. That is more of a mental block most of us have towards a profession. But then you have to understand them and take extra care of them to get them out of their old experiences and thinking. Now I look back and I remember painful experiences of patients, smiling patients, thankful patients and not so thankful ones as well. But I have enjoyed my profession and I met my wife because of this. One fine day, she came to me with a tooth ache and I was in love with her smile. Did she know she would be marrying the dentist. I guess she would’nt have imagined it. But things do happen and they happen for good.
